LOA (Part II)

In college, about age 21, I had a friend who flew the little airplanes. I don't know what the proper name for the little sardine cans is, so we'll go with little airplanes.  ANYway…I wanted to go to Kansas-- I lived in Denver, CO.  I had a friend of a friend who thought I was a great match, romantically, for their friend of a friend, and since we were all so close (kidding) and romance being the main goal for that hormonally-ruled age group, I made it my mission to get to Kansas ASAP.  Wouldn't ya know it, weather turned on us, and there were storms.  My sardine can pilot friend said, "No go." And, I said, "Ohhhhh no!"

 So... off I went and bought us all breakfast at the ever popular BK, and we sat down as a group to focus, pray, and mediate on our flight being perfect and safe.  We kept the weather channel on so we could watch our progress. We would picture our safe tunnel of weather from Denver to Kansas then check back with the weather channel, and back ‘n forth.

Within about half an hour, the weather had cleared, and we could leave. You'd think it ends here BUT... this is where it gets GOOD. As we got up in the air in our little sardine can, it was GORGEOUS. We were in the air for all of 10 minutes, when I realized we were literally in a TUNNEL surrounded by clouds. Our little tunnel was perfectly safe and sound, and the weather outside our tunnel was still stormy. It was quite AMAZING.

Can you place an order for your child?  Wow -- far out, you say. I don't mean by way of genetic testing, etc.  What I mean is, can we say to the universe, I see the best qualities in Dad and in me, Mommy, and I would love to have my baby have those?  For example, his dad has great skin, very muscular.  I have pretty eyes.  I am very intellectually inclined, emotionally aware, intuitive...

I recall stating while I was pregnant that I really WANTED my son to have the best of both of us, and I listed those things specifically.  To my wonder, my son has all of these traits -- and more (fries).  He has some physical quality that connects him to everyone who loves him -- everyone in his genetic line.  He has an ear that folds slightly -- courtesy of my dad.  He is double jointed -- just like Aunt Judy.  He has my eyes and lips...which I got from my mom, his Grama.  It just goes on like that.  He is muscular like his dad and same gorgeous olive skin.  He is terribly in tune, smart as a whip, intuitive.  A wonderful combination of everything I ordered, with fries :)

Courage

It takes courage to follow your heart.

It takes courage to find things that bring you joy.

It takes courage to share your true feelings with others.

It takes courage to do something you have never done before.

It takes courage to complete your responsibilities.

It takes courage to say “yes”, and often times more to say “no”.

It takes courage to ask for help, and be willing to receive it.

It takes courage to share what you believe in.

It takes courage to follow your own guidance.

It takes courage to focus only on what you want.

It takes courage to do things differently.

It takes courage to risk disappointing someone you care about.

It takes courage to let go of judgments.

It takes courage to say goodbye to someone that doesn’t treat you well.

It takes courage to love someone.

It takes courage to be kind.

It takes courage to be you!


It’s not always easy being courageous, but when you are, you will see magic unfolding before your eyes.

Children are the masters of make-believe. From imaginary friends to elaborate fictitious stories, the unseen is real and simply makes sense.  Sadly, many parents discourage children to speak of things they believe do not exist such as angels, ghosts, auras, etc.  However, many adults fail to realize that some of the greatest minds believed in the “unreal”. From Albert Einstein and quantum physics, to Thomas Edison and electricity, those defying the limits of vision have significantly changed society.

“Straw-blowing art” and “Old-fashioned telephone” are great art projects that help make the concept of energy fun and visual. Straw art uses the child’s “energy” to blow the watercolor all over the page. Though you can’t see your breath, it is still quite evident that it exists and is the reason why the watercolor is moving. Making “old-fashioned telephones” again emphasizes that your energy (voice) travels to the other person without it being seen. Energy does not have to be seen to know that it is there.

Straw-blowing Art

Materials

Watercolor paper

Watercolor brush

Watercolors (set or liquid)

Cup of water

Straws

1.      If you are using liquid watercolors make drops on the paper with the paintbrush.

2.      Use a straw to blow the watercolor paint all over the paper.

OR

1.      If you are using a watercolor set, use the paint brush to dap a small amount of water onto one color of the set and then dump the water onto the paper.

2.       After the blot of watercolor is on the paper use the straw to blow it around.

TIPS:

Be sure to take breaks every few minutes to prevent dizziness.

Old-fashioned telephone

Materials

Two plastic cups

String (no less than a yard, but the longer the better 2-3 yards is ideal)

Glue

Tissue paper (cut into 1 inch by 1 inch squares)

1.      Cover the cups in glue and stick the cut tissue paper squares on the cups.

2.      ADULTS poke a hole in the bottom of each cup.

3.      Put the string in about an inch inside the cup and tie a knot in both cups.

4.      Enjoy sending messages back and forth to each other.

Tips:

Be sure that the string is tightly pulled for best results of hearing the messages. Try different cup sizes and string thickness and see if it makes a difference in the sound quality.
